About

I am a Newcastle based artist, working mainly in painting, drawing and printmaking and employing industrial landscape as personal narrative. My work expresses his inherent need to reconcile his geographic displacement (from the UK to Australia) with a need for a sense of belonging, by drawing on formative experiences. This displaced reawakening, constructed through gestural imagery of industrial landscape and the circumstances of a personal narrative, delivers what is a reflection of self. This self-reflection conveys memory, nostalgia, melancholy, and the enduring sense of loss. I have recently finished working towards a Master of Philosophy (Fine Art) at Newcastle University, NSW, Australia. Which I completed in August 2011.
